Optical cables and passive components

We supply complex passive systems for telecommunication networks. Our portfolio includes a wide range of optical cables, splice closures, optical distribution frames as well as a selection of customised modules.

OPGW (Optical Ground Wire)

We have been supplying our customers with a wide variety of state-of-the-art OPGW solutions for decades.

Our offering includes the following solutions from among the products of AFL Telecommunications:

The OPGW to replace the protective conductor, for 120-400 kV transmission networks;
MASS, as a self-bearing optical aerial cable, for any voltage level;
OPPC to replace the conductor wire, with special insulators up to a voltage level of 245 kV.

Optical fittings

The suspension and tension strings, as well as the vibration dampers for optical aerial cables we distribute are in compliance with the strictest technical requirements for optical aerial cables and ensure the longest possible service life for OACs.

RIBE is the leading player on the world market in the vibration damping of all optical aerial cables and their gripping on aerial contact line configurations. Of the fittings manufactured by RIBE we typically supply various fittings for the following applications:

Pole sequence for public lighting;
Pole sequence for railway overhead-contact lines;
Low voltage networks;
Medium voltage networks;
High voltage networks.

High voltage fittings

We provide various assembly solutions for the phase-conductors and ground wires of high-voltage overhead lines: conductor- and insulation string fittings, vibration dampers, spacers, and bird flight diverters among others.

Our offering includes the following products of RIBE:

Fittings and chains of fittings for conductor and neutral wires, for porcelain, glass and composite insulators, up to a voltage level of 400 kV;
Preformed fittings that play an increasing role in the gripping of conductor wires;
Accessory fittings for wires and poles: such as aerial obstacle indicator spheres, bird protection fittings.

RIBE counts as the world leading expert in the vibration damping of conductor wires – also when combined with bundle spacers –, and with its phase spacers it also has vast experience in managing the galopping phenomenon.

Railway fittings

The unique and patented tension wheel assemblies with cable brakes in our portfolio are used for tensioning the carrier cable and contact wires of electrified railways.

We distribute primarily the following modern technical solutions developed by RIBE, which also play a determining role in the field of railway fittings:

Complete transverse and longitudinal chain systems and certain elements thereof;
Bypass and power cable fittings;
Several types of bird protection fittings becoming increasingly important on railway overhead contact poles and wires;
Patent-protected tensioners with braking wires and fall arresters, which have achieved market leadership in a number of countries.

Impregnating and casting agents

We also sell high-quality insulation materials used for the impregnation or casting of motors and transformers, which ensure stable operation of both rotating and stationary electric machines in any environment.

Our product portfolio includes the following Elantas materials, which can be processed – among others – with trickling, dipping, hot-dipping, UV-assisted hot-dipping, and rotation-dipping procedures:

Insulating varnishes used for the protection of electrical devices, which can also be applied under aggressive environmental conditions;
Solvent-free varnishes for the protection of motors, transformers and generators;
Unsaturated polyester- and epoxy-based impregnating resins, VOC-free and modified polyester-imide-based impregnating varnishes.

Adhesives and electronic coating varnishes

Our range of products includes casting materials, coating resins, and conformal coating, which were all developed to serve as state-of-the-art protection for printed circuits. The structural adhesives are suitable for a wide variety of purposes.

We offer our partners the following modern materials, which reduce environmental hazards as far as possible:

Single-component, alkyd- and acrylate-based “Thin Film” coatings;
Single-component, VOC-free polyurethane, epoxy- and silicone-based “Thick Film” coatings;
Hot-melting, VOC-free, single-component resins;
One- and two-component polyurethane resins;
One- and two-component silicone materials;
One- and two-component polyurethane-, acrylic-, epoxy- and silicone-based structural adhesives and sealants, also in VOC-free version.

Winding wires

We distribute the full range of round winding wires with a wide variety of insulation solutions as well as flat and CTC winding materials.

Some typical examples from our offering manufactured by Essex:

Winding wires with circular cross sections in solderable and highly temperature-tolerant versions;
A complete range of profiled wires (e.g., with varnish, glass fibre, Kapton or Nomex insulation);
Continuously Transposed Cables (CTCs);
Litz-wires.

Winding machines

We also distribute high-quality winding machines and automatisation systems for the manufacturing of electric motors and coils.

Our firm represents Sipro, which designs and manufactures high-quality winding machines and automation systems for the production of electric motors and coils.

Coil winding feeders

We provide our partners with the latest generation of coil winding feeders, which greatly increase production efficiency of winding processes as well as the quality of the finished products.

Within this group of products we distribute, due to their favourable characteristics, coil winding feeders manufactured by BTSR, which conform to the Industry 4.0 philosophy.

The coil winding feeders of BTSR:

have an operating range between 0.5 – 2000 g;
They can be installed on old and new winding machines alike;
These are the first coil winding feeders manufactured according to the “positive feeder” concept;
They provide a consistent and outstanding coil quality even at maximum rotations per minute;
They extremely increase productivity;
All process parameters are simply programmable;
They can be installed quickly and require minimal maintenance.

The outstanding technical properties are guaranteed by more than ten patented solutions.

Manufacturing of cable samples

We provide exclusive samples of various cable designs for demonstration purposes, based on the unique needs and concepts of our customers.

Cable samples can include stripped samples or polished samples, and can be made with plastic, metal or plexiglass feet.

So far we have made presentation samples of cables with diameters as small as 0.3 mm and as large as 130 mm.
